Mark your calendars!

Mark your calendars!

Our first official Hiking North/Central Michigan hike has a date and a location. We’ll call this our “Meet and Greet” hike on May 5th 2012 at the Silver Creek Pathway near Luther MI. The Silver Creek Pathway is a 4 mile loop along the scenic Pine River. Following the hike we will have an opportunity to nibble on some snacks and enjoy a campfire hosted by Hiking Michigan Founder Rob Golda, Rob will share the history of Hiking Michigan and the future direction of the North/Central group. We will also discuss future hikes and events. This will be a chance to get to know a few new people and share your ideas about what you would like to do, and where you would like to go around central and northern Michigan.

If your new to Hiking Michigan plan on having a great time and meeting some great people that all share a passion to get outdoors and enjoy nature and hiking. Everyone is welcome on this hike, young and old. Don’t worry about your so called “skill level” The reason for our hike is for every member of the group to have the time and opportunity to enjoy and take in all that nature has to offer. We will be hiking through very unique and beautiful area, and it would be a shame to run through it and miss all there is to see.

There are some of the S.E. MI Hiking group members that will be joining this hike as well, which means we will have some “Old hands” of Hiking Michigan to share information, expertise, and perhaps a few stories about Hiking Michigan. The New North/Central events will offer the S.E members new hiking and outdoor opportunities to enjoy, while bringing their years of experience to this new group in the North Central region of the state.

Download a more detailed Flyer for the Hike, and a map to where we will be meeting for the Hike, too.  SILVER CREEK HIKE
