The Inaugural 1st HIKE for Hiking North/Central Michigan is almost upon us. On Saturday, 5/5/12, at 1pm-4pm, the newly expanded group will be meeting along the Pere Marquette river for our first HIKE as a group.
We hope to be joined by many of the S.E.Michigan branch members, but this IS an official North/Central HIKE. We will be meeting at the Upper Branch Bridge parking area, in the Manistee National Forest. We will be Hiking along the Pere Marquette river for about half of our journey, and then a little inland through an area known for it’s many different species of Ferns. Thus the name of the Trail…..The Fern Loop.
Upon our return, there will be a Campfire going, with Hot Tea & Chocolate, and some munchies. We hope you will give us your feedback of what you would like to see your Group be doing this year.
Come on our and meet the North/Central’s director, Mark Wilson, who will be leading the Hike, and Rob Golda from the S.E.Michigan group will be manning the Campfire. 🙂 So join us for this first HIKE and be a part of this new Hiking Group for all of North/Central Michigan. And eventually the whole state. 🙂
